Spiti Valley Winter Trip – Women Only
About this trip
The Baspa valley of Sangla and Chitkul, ancient monasteries, high villages and the stark cold desert of Spiti – a Himalayan winter every woman deserves to see, safely and surrounded by sisters who get it.
This women-only winter expedition goes Delhi to Delhi: an overnight Volvo to Shimla, then a Tempo Traveller with experienced mountain drivers through Kinnaur and into Spiti. See Chitkul, the last village before the border, Kinner Kailash at sunset from Kalpa, the confluence at Khab and the frozen lake at Nako, the 1,000-year-old Tabo Monastery, cliff-top Dhankar, the iconic Key Monastery, Hikkim’s famous post office and the fossils of Langza.
A female Trip Captain with a supervisor stays with the group throughout, with handpicked homestays and hotels, oxygen cylinders and first aid on board, and a small group for a safe winter journey.

Winter safety
- Spiti is a high-altitude cold desert (Kaza about 3,800 m, Hikkim about 4,400 m). Temperatures fall well below freezing, especially at night.
- Snow, black ice and road closures can affect travel beyond Kinnaur in December. Nako, Tabo, Kaza and the Spiti villages are visited only if roads are open and the drive can be completed safely in daylight. If not, the Trip Captain will follow a safer route and overnight stop.
- Snowfall and village visits are not guaranteed. The order of sightseeing may change based on local conditions.
- Long drives on Day 1 (225 km), Day 6 (200 km) and Day 7 (222 km). Days 2–5 have shorter drives.
- Please tell us about any medical condition – especially heart, breathing or blood pressure – at the time of booking.
- Always follow the Trip Captain’s instructions in snow and high-altitude areas.
- If Sakhi Escapes cancels the trip due to unforeseen circumstances, an alternate date or a full refund will be offered.
- Cancellations follow the Sakhi Escapes Payment & Cancellation Policy.
